Conservative governors in multiple US states have positioned National Guard troops on readiness preparing for large-scale protests resisting Donald Trump and his agenda.

Coordinators of the "No Kings" initiative announced that events are scheduled at over 2,500 locations across the United States.
As per protest organizers, the last Anti-Monarchy protest in June drew more than five million demonstrators opposing Trump's political approach.
Local Responses
State leaders in Texas and Virginia have publicly deployed their local National Guard units, though the level of military involvement remains unclear.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott referenced the "organized antifa-linked rally" as rationale for calling up state troops.
Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin correspondingly directed mobilization of the commonwealth's National Guard contingent.
Political Statements
Protest leaders portrayed the assemblies as challenge to Trump's "autocratic tendencies."
"Trump considers his rule is total," they state on their digital presence.
"Yet in this country, we oppose monarchs and we will not retreat against turmoil, dishonesty, and cruelty."
Several conservatives have labeled the rallies as "Unpatriotic" events.
Kansas Senator Roger Marshall allegedly remarked ahead of the demonstrations: "We'll have to get the National Guard."
"Ideally it'll be peaceful. I doubt it," he continued.
Critic Reaction
Liberal officials criticized the deployment of National Guard personnel.
Texas Democrat Gene Wu asserted: "Sending armed troops to quell peaceful demonstrations is exactly what kings and dictators do — and Greg Abbott just proved he's like them."
