Netflix Casts Spot-On Actor for Bon Clay in One Piece Season 3
Baroque Works is set to exert significant influence in the next installment of Netflix’s show of One Piece, although the true confrontation isn’t set to occur until the next season, and a beloved, popular member has recently been selected.
The platform declared Tuesday that Cole Escola is now part of the One Piece season 3 cast and will play Mr. 2. This character can use their power to transform into an identical duplicate of anyone they’ve laid a hand on with their main hand. The performer, who is identifies as non-binary and prefers they/them pronouns, will portray a rendition of that character reinterpreted as non-binary, instead of as a drag queen, in the live-action show, unlike the source material and cartoon version.
Escola will work alongside multiple fresh additions tasked with bringing the group to reality, such as head the main antagonist, brought to life by Joe Manganiello, an emerging star as a key member, and a familiar face, who will appear as the lineup as the ruler of the fictional land.
Even though this character is a major member of the group, the individual will be introduced in One Piece the third season. With the second season set to cover the Little Garden storyline, this represents a major departure in the schedule of the character’s debut, one that could indicate more adjustments to the plot development.
Escola’s blend of precise humor and deep sensitivity makes them a standout choice for the character. Besides their current animated role in the animated coming-of-age film Boys Go to Jupiter, they garnered significant recognition and several accolades for penning and acting in the hit comedy play Oh Mary!, highlighting the versatility they’ll bring to one of One Piece’s highly regarded figures.
The streaming service’s real-life One Piece program is scheduled to come back for its season two on March 10th, 2026.
