Recent Details Come to Light Concerning the Location of the Bodies of Rob and Michele Reiner Remains
New information has come to light concerning the shocking deaths of acclaimed director Rob Reiner and photographer Michele Singer Reiner, whose remains were located at their Brentwood, Los Angeles property on Sunday.
A Initial Report
As detailed in an account quoting a family associate, a massage therapist scheduled for an appointment first raised the alarm after being unable to gain access the house. This individual then got in touch with the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who lives close by.
Upon entering the house, Romy came upon her father's body. Reports state she then left the home distraught, without knowing at that moment that her mother's body was also inside. Her roommate who had gone with her contacted 911. Afterward, emergency responders found Michele Singer Reiner's body.
Criminal Proceedings
The police have charged the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with the charges of murder in the first degree, as well as the alleged use of a deadly weapon, said to be a knife. He is presently being held without bail.
Disputed Reports
The confidential informant challenged several earlier details. It was stated that while Romy Reiner told first responders that her brother Nick resided in a guesthouse on the property, she did not name him as a potential suspect at that time.
Furthermore refuted widely reported notions that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been especially "concerned" about Nick's conduct in the preceding period. The source claimed the family was "used to working through [Nick's] problems together."
This refutation also extends to accounts of alleged "unstable" behavior by Nick at a party held by Conan O'Brien the evening prior to the discovery. Although the source stated they were not in a position to confirm whether Rob had "rebuked" his son at the party, they asserted that reports of a "heated argument" between the two were inaccurate.
Ongoing Inquiry Details
Per law enforcement sources, the coroner had yet to determine as of Tuesday whether the Reiners died on Saturday evening or on Sunday. Some media reports noted the state of their bodies implied they had been deceased for a period of time.
Nick Reiner was arrested at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Exposition Park area, about 15 miles from the family home. He was set to have a hearing on Tuesday, but his lawyer, Alan Jackson, said his client had a medical issue and would not appear until Wednesday or later.
