Around Twelve cultural artefacts have been formally given back to Ethiopia after remaining by a family in Germany for more than ten decades.

These items, initially gathered in the 1920s by the German representative to the Ethiopian empire Franz Weiss and his spouse his partner, were transferred on this past Wednesday to the Ethiopian Studies Institute at the university in Addis Ababa.

The collection featured royal crowns, shields and canvases, each regarded as culturally important in Ethiopia.

"The artefacts still stand as a mark of the lasting and amicable ties between Germany and Ethiopia," stated Ferdinand von Weyhe, the envoy to Ethiopia.

Dr. a professor, whose father was born during the family's service in the nation, handed over the objects at a event joined by Tourism Minister the tourism official.

He explained that the household's aim to return the artefacts was to "share their appeal with the public and safeguard the heritage and history linked to my parent's origin."

These objects were either gifts or buys, as stated by the household.

"I want to thank the Weiss household for concretely showing their sincere appreciation for the nation by diligently maintaining these items and crucially ensuring their homecoming to their legitimate homeland," stated the official.

The minister noted that the pieces would in the near future be opened to the general audience for study and academic study, calling the decision a significant step in safeguarding the nation's national treasures.

"Initiatives persist to return ancient artifacts that are located in the hands of individuals and entities around the world," she affirmed.
