The Mighty Nein, the most recent animated series from the beloved role-playing group, revealed a new introductory sequence. It features our favorite cast of misfits, outcasts, and rogues kicking ass and making their mark, while also hinting at multiple heart-wrenching backstories for key figures such as the voice actor's wizard Caleb, and Travis Willingham's warlock orc, the character Fjord.

All in all, the intro appears stunning. But I couldn't help feeling that something was missing in the song choice.

The intro employs "Welcome to Wildemount", an exceptional song composed by artist the talented musician. This piece from the soundtrack album of the same name, the second one released by Critical Role Productions LLC's record label their music brand. It's a great nostalgic choice, and I believe that fans of the sequel series will appreciate its presence.

But for me, The series' intro fails to capture the excitement and excitement that accompanied the show's actual-play adventure. "Your Turn to Roll", composed by singer-songwriter Jason Charles Miller, became an immediate hit in my view when it was initially unveiled in that year, and it only got better when co-founder the performer wrote words to the melody for the series' animated intro in 2018.

Including singing from one actress, another performer, a co-star, as well as Riegel himself, the song was catchy and fun. Back then, I hadn't seen the second campaign at that point, but this was such an earworm that I kept it on my phone. This track that knows how to get you pumped before you start an episode of fantasy hijinks.

The show's opening with "Welcome to Wildemount" fails to hit the right notes in my opinion. It's a grand composition, but from what I know of the group, I can't help but feel that its mood is somewhat mismatched.

Naturally, Critical Role has stated that the series will have some surprises and differences from the original live sessions. A tonal change for its opening appears as among these.
