The Red Devils Poised to Sign German Forward Lea Schüller away from Bayern Munich
Manchester United are finalising sealing the deal for prolific German striker Lea Schüller in a permanent move from the Frauen-Bundesliga champions.
A Major Acquisition for United
Schüller, who has half a year remaining on her contract, is known as a prolific goal-getter for her club and the national team. Having netted over 100 goals for Bayern and scored 54 times in 82 appearances for her country. This signing is viewed as a major signing for the WSL team.
Her exit from Bayern has been anticipated since she was seen holding back emotions while applauding the club's supporters following a victory over Bayer Leverkusen this month.
Reports in December that the German women's top flight was set to lose one of its top forwards. Per multiple sources, the formalities for the move are now finalised.
Consistent Goal Threat to Strengthen the Attack
The 28-year-old’s arrival should represent a significant boost to the team's attacking options. Schüller has been highly reliable with her finishing in Germany’s top flight.
- Over seven consecutive seasons, including the last term, she achieved at least a double-figures tally of league goals.
- She won the Golden Boot in the 2021-22 season with a haul of 16 goals.

Securing Schüller’s signature coincides with a period when the club appear to be building momentum.

- The signing of Swedish defender Hanna Lundkvist on a multi-year deal.
- The new deal for Japan midfielder Hinata Miyazawa, a popular figure since arriving in 2023.
